REHEARSAL EXPECTATIONS

What to bring to class:

  1. A positive attitude
  2. A willingness to support and communicate with each other
  3. A desire to learn
  4. A commitment to being responsible and respectful
  5. A pencil

“Talent is what you have.  Effort is what you give”

Something to think about:

TALKING- is not a productive use of rehearsal time.  Please be respectful

when other sections are rehearsing by keeping quiet.  You may use this time to:

a.)    hear your part while the other section is singing

b.)   look ahead in the music to study difficult passages

c.)    listen to become aware of the challenges for each section

d.)   stay alert and be ready to follow the next instructions.  Many points talked about with one section will eventually become relevant for yours.

PREPARATION- Each member of this group must have a pencil at every rehearsal.  Don’t forget that positive attitude!

PRACTICE- Although you are not responsible for learning music outside of class, you can use the concepts required in healthy singing to practice proper techniques outside of the classroom.

EXCELLENCE- Our goal is to have fun and excel together.  You are now an important part of that goal.  We can achieve this together by refraining from talking, asking questions, being prepared, practicing good vocal technique, and most importantly helping each other.  Your job is to put forth your BEST effort every time we rehearse or perform.
