Lyric- to be sung on the radio using rhyme and meter
Ballad - tell a story/ use a refrain/rhyme
Where I’m From – description, show me where you are from.
Blank Verse – ( starts with delight, ends with wisdom / iambic pentameter (10 syllables in every line)-no rhyme
Sonnet – 14 lines with Rhyme scheme abab cdcd efef gg /iambic pentameter/problem /solution
Tanka – syllables : 7-5-7-5-7 for a total of 31 syllables…. a moment in time using nature
Breaking the Rules – similar to ee cummings /write in shapes/ no capitalization needed
Stealing Phrases - 10 selected lines to add to and place in any order
Nursery Rhyme – think with a child’s mind
