LITERATURE/ WRITING OBJECTIVES:
Students will be able to distinguish between the “Plain” and “Ornate” styles of early Puritan writing, while also taking into account the poetry of that period. They will also also be able to revise their own “Epiphany” essays in accordance with the commentary and editing provided, in accordance with the 6 Traits Rams Writing Rubric.
VOCABULARY/GRAMMAR OBJECTIVES:
Students will be able to matriculate SAT Vocabulary lists 2/3 into their writing. They will also continue to be able to identify adverbial clauses in an effort to create more meaningful sentences.

STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO Identify traits of Puritanism and relate them to current mores. They will also be able to recognize the 6 traits of good writing, and apply them to their own personal narratives.
VOCABULARY/GRAMMAR OBJECTIVES:
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO define and matriculate SAT Vocabulary Lists 1/2 into their writing. They will also be able to identify prepositional phrases, participles, infinitives, and gerunds (PIGs!), and clauses in an effort to get to the meaning of a sentence, and thereby compose sentences with more clarity.
