Once again, the LCHS All Stars represented Classical at the ACS’s Relay for Life. And once again, their dedication was AMAZING! Not only did these students go out of their way to raise money for the American Cancer Society–but they also assisted in the event itself. Yesterday, I spoke with one of the event chairs who raved on and on about the wonderful students at Lynn Classical who helped to set up all the luminary bags. She told me that when the Lynn Police–who usually set up the bags–were shorthanded, she immediately sent them to us for help because, to quote her “those kids are amazing.” And yes, they are. Despite the fact that the event ended in a pretty terrifying thunderstorm, and we were all evacuated around 3am…all in all, it was a blast (as usual).
The LCHS All Stars, primarily composed of Key Club members, continues to shine brightly in our community, highlighting again how wonderful our school is! The fact that we have such dedicated student body members is wonderful in and of itself, but the fact that we have ALUMNI who come back every year, truly says a lot.
I’ll post some pics soon…but I also need to mention one more thing. One of our core team members, Samnang Oum, recently cut off 12+ inches of his hair to donate to the American Cancer Society for the production of wigs. He said he was going to do it, and he did! Thank you, Samnang, for being such a great inspiration to us all!
