Welcome Back!! It’s going to be a wonderful school year and I look forward to meeting all the new faces of LCHS. As the Special Education Department Head, I am extremely excited about this school year and I’m looking forward to leading the department in an upward direction toward excellence. This year we are very blessed to have three additional teachers to our department which makes our programs better than ever. With the additional teachers, it allowed us to departmentalize the programs to better focus on core curriculum instruction and meet the needs of the students. Our goal as special education teachers, is to provide services to students to access the curriculum and provide support for success to prepare students to enter less restrictive environments and become independent active members of the community.
For those who don’t know me, I have been working with the Lynn Public School Department since 1994 where I began my career in the Speech and Language Department. Since then, I’ve been in various positions including, resource teacher for substantially separate students and most recently an Inclusion/Team Teacher. I love my job and I love working for Lynn Public Schools. Each day is a new one which brings forth new experiences. I have and continue to learn from my students and peers every day. My students and peers have helped shape who I am today, and for that I am truly grateful.
My beliefs are simple:
- Try your best and be prepared.
- Put the effort into you.
- You are given the opportunity to be educated. Take it!
- You are in charge of your own success.
- Your future is in your hands. We can give you the tools, but you need to use them.
- Smart is not what you are, Smart is what you get….Get Smart!!!
Practice school as if you were practicing for a sport or activity. The more you exercise, the stronger your become. Same with school, the more you study and practice, the stronger your brain will be.
I am truly excited to work with parents, guardians, students, paraprofessionals and teachers. Know, if there is anything I can do, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I am available every day after school until at least 3:30. Please stop by to introduce yourself and please encourage your son/daughter to stop by for extra help. My office is on the first floor between Attendance and Guidance.
