Welcome to Heath Class!
Throughout this course you
will learn about various health related topics including:
- •Physical Health
- •Social and Emotional Health
- •Safety and Prevention
OBJECTIVE:
To promote wellness, health literacy, and positive
health behavior in young adults.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES:
- •Students
will be provided materials in order to make good decisions regarding their
health and lifestyle. - •Students
will participate in various kinds of activities related to becoming healthy adults. - •Students
will learn to evaluate their health. - •Student
experiences will help determine future health related choices.
Class Rules:
- •If you need to leave class or late= stay after school for the amount of time
that you missed. - •Cell phones
are not allowed to be used in the
classroom. - •No I Pods or game devices allowed in the classroom,
unless given permission by the teacher. - •We will work together as a class to build a classroom
environment in which everyone gives and receives respect. - •NO TALKING
WHILE THE TEACHER, SPEAKER, OR ANOTHER STUDENT IS TALKING>
ABSENCES:
- •Upon the return from an excused absence, the
STUDENT is responsible for finding out what they missed and turn in any missing
assignments the next class date. - •If the absence is unexcused, no work will be accepted
and tests or quizzes cannot be made up.
WHAT TO BRING TO EVERY
CLASS:
You must come prepared to every
class with the following items:

Pen or Pencil, Health Notebook/Reflective Journal, Any
Completed Work
You will be graded in the following
areas:
- •Participation/Attendance 20%-30% (depending on
speakers), Assignments 30%,
Tests/Quizzes/Labs 50%
