3/12/12  Work on the section 4-2 syllabus as was handed out.  We will read orally in class to insure all students will be able to understand the material to the best of their ability.

Week of 2/13/12 We will proceed to go through sections 24-2 and 24-3 in Bacteria with worksheets and reading orally.  Vocab. quiz to follow and finally a test on chapter materal.

Tuesday, 2.7.12

                        Bacterial Evolution and Classification

pay attention.  They will help you not only understand more
about how bacteria
look, but also how they work!

4). A similar figure to 24-2 will be given out to you to label color and

The Science of Life

Please do the following in the order given.  This will maximize you ability to learn the material with the least amount of stress!  As you do this syllabus, understand that it is very important to read.  Strive for excellence!

At the beginning of every chapter you will find a set of objectives.  The author feels that, when you finish that section you should be able to do those objectives; if you can’t, you should go back and spend extra time with the  material you’re having trouble with.

Section 1-1.     Themes of Biology. 

1).   Go to page 25&26; look up the vocabulary words for this section in the glossary and copy their

definitions into your notebook.

2).   Read pages 5-10.

3).   Do the section review questions (1-5).  #6 is extra credit. You do not need to copy the questions.

      Write complete sentences! 

Section 1-2    The World of Biology.

1).  Please use the same procedure as above in section1-1.

Section 1-3.  Scientific Method. 

1).  Please, again, use the same procedure for this section—; vocab. First, then reading, then questions at

the end of the section.

Section 1-4.  Microscopy and Measurement.  

1).  Again, follow the above procedure for this section.

2).  In addition, be sure to study the parts of the microscope—you will have a quiz on it at some point!
