Chapter 1 Syllabus  (Part A)

This part of the syllabus covers pages (1-13).  The material will be split into 2 quizzes.

Due to the extensive vocabulary you need to assimilate in this course, it is important that we do it in a fashion which it doesn’t overwhelm you.  For that reason, we will break this chapter into two parts.  Also, in light of the vast amount of words and the medical terminology, I am asking you to volunteer to read the material orally aloud in class.  You will not be asked to read if you don’t want to!  I want you to be comfortable in class and learn.  This process will help you to hear the proper pronunciation of the terms.

As you write the vocabulary words on page 13, be sure not to mix the anterior with the exterior words.  This will only serve to confuse you.  Study the pictures and diagrams as you writ the definitions of the vocabulary words.  This is the best way to study and see the association of the vocab. words to the pictures.  This is the author’s main objective.

1). We will go over (orally) the chapter objectives on page one.

2). We will read pages (2-13) for this section.

3). Your first written assignment in this text is to write the 38 vocabulary words on page 13 with

their definitions into your notebook and study them frequently.  As you do so, refer to page

13 to study the surficial anatomical terms.

Note:  Do not mix the anterior words with the posterior words!!!!!!!!
