4th Quarter

Week of April 30-May4

Monday:  Read the story “Araby” p. 986 in your books.

Tuesday: Answer the study questions for the story “Araby” and pass them in for a grade.

Wednesday: Read the story “The Rocking-horse Winner” p. 997  in your books.

Thursday: Answer the study questions for the story “The Rocking Horse Winner” and pass them in for a grade.

Friday: Test on both stories.

 

Week of April 23 – 27

Monday:  Read the story “The Destructors” p. 948 in your books.

Tuesday: Answer the study questions for the story “The Destructors” and pass them in for a grade.

Wednesday: Read the story “In the Shadow of War” in your books.

Thursday: Answer the study questions for the story “In the Shadow of War” and pass them in for a grade.

Friday: Test on both stories.

3rd Quarter Detailed

Week 4

M: Go over vocabulary for week 4. Discussion of chapters 10-12 of Brave New World. Reading check quiz on chapters 10-12.  Reading time. HW: Finish reading chapter 13 of Brave New World. Vocabulary quiz on Friday, week 4.

T:  Read Chapter 14 in class. Discussion of chapter 13.  HW: Finish reading chapter 14

W: Reading Check quiz on Chapters 13-14. Discussion of Chapter 14. HW: Vocabulary Quiz Friday. Read Chapter 15 for homework.  No Period B – Students should read chapter 15

R: Read Chapters 16 and 17 in class. HW: Vocabulary quiz on Week 4 tomorrow.

F: Vocabulary Quiz on week four. Read Chapter 18 in class. HW: Finish novel, write a one page reaction to the ending.

Week 1

M: Go over vocabulary for week 2. Discussion of chapter 3 of Brave New World. Reading check quiz on chapter 3.  HW: Finish reading chapter four of Brave New World. Vocabulary quiz on Thursday, week 2. Period F should read 4 & 5

T:  Read Chapter 5 in class. Discussion of chapter 4.  HW: Make sure you are finished with chapters 4 & 5
